Ear Keloids

Keloids are an unsightly problem for many patients. They are more common in African Americans, Hispanics and Asians. Keloids are thought to form as a result of overproduction of collagen which is a normal repair mechanism. Keloids can result from any injury to the skin but are often found after ear piercing.

Keloids may be successfully treated by a combination of surgical removal and steroid injections.
